~Care & Storage of your Fur Hat~

Your Montana Polarwear fur item is made from natural fur, and as such, will give you years of beauty and warmth. If you get mud or dirt on your fur, allow it to dry and just give it a good shake. If that does not work you can take a damp cloth and wipe it off. You can then follow up with a soft brush. If your hat gets wet, just let it dry, it should be no worse for the wear. At any time, a good shake will fluff up the hairs. Do not machine wash or soak your fur item. If your fur item needs a new liner send it back and I can replace it.

How to store your fur item:
The box that your fur item was shipped in is a great place to store it. It will keep your fur from getting crushed, yet allow it to breathe. Do not store your fur item in plastic! (For hats, crumple some tissue paper up and put it inside to help it keep it’s shape.) Also, In the box with your fur, you received a sachet with cedar and lavender in it, that will keep pests away from your fur. Storing your fur in the box will keep it out of any direct light. Leave it in a cool dry location. Extreme heat and high humidity can damage the leather and fur of your item. When you get your fur out of storage give it a good shake to help fluff up the fur and it’s ready to wear. If your item includes exposed leather, put a leather conditioner on it twice a year.
